Gilliam indicted on federal arson charges

Iron County – Timothy Lee Gilliam was indicted for an act of arson on June 28, 2012, in Iron County.

Gilliam, 44, Belleview, was indicted by a federal grand jury in St. Louis Nov. 7 on one felony county of arson of federal property.

If Gilliam is convicted, the charge carries a penalty range of five to 20 years in prison. In determining the actual sentences, a judge is required to consider the U.S. sentencing guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Forest Service. Asst. United States Attorney Cristian M. Stevens is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
