Donald R. Gordon

MACKINAW, Ill. — Donald R. Gordon, 65, of Mackinaw, Ill., died Sunday November 25, 2012, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Don was born January 27, 1947, in Bloomington to John and Eva Mitchell Gordon. He married Linda Kaufman she survives. Also surviving are; three daughters, Tracy (John) Embry of Mackinaw, Shannon (Allen) Killion of Mackinaw, Marty (John) Lynch of Farmington, Mo., one son Cory (Katie) Gordon of McLean, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandson, two sisters, Carolyn Gordon of Bloomington, Ann (Butch) Perring of Clinton, three brothers, Charles (Phyllis) Gordon of Danvers, Larry (Kathy) Gordon of Heyworth, Bob (Dorothy) Gordon of Bloomington.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John Jr., Bill, Ron, five sisters, Marylyn, Louise, Sue, Nancy, and a stillborn.

Don was an Army Vietnam veteran. Don worked for GTE 27 years. He then worked for the Village of Mackinaw five years and last working for William National Lease Trucking three years.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, at Mackinaw United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joy Schlesselman will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 29, at the Methodist Church. Burial will be at Mackinaw Township Cemetery. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Kidney Association or donor’s choice.

Don was a devoted family man and he supported all his grandchildren’s endeavors.
