Madison County Commission Minutes

November 13, 2012, the  Madison County Commission met with the following officers present: Presiding Commissioner Robert Mooney, First District Commissioner Dennis Bradford and Second District Commissioner Larry Mungle. Commissioners Elect Tom Stephens and Jim Thompson attended the meeting. County Clerk Don Firebaugh recorded the proceedings.

ROAD AND BRIDGE

The Road and Bridge acting supervisor Ernie Robinson reported this week the department is grading CR’s 206, 246, 249, 247, 248, 249, 411, 416, 418, 423, and 439. Robinson said the department is boom-axing several 300 series roads.

CONTRACT WITH SHEET METAL CONTRACTORS

A maintenance contract from Sheet Metal Contractors was submitted for approval. The company maintains the heating and cooling needs in the courthouse. Discussion followed concerning the quality of work and their fee. It was agreed that they have done an excellent job with their service and their cost is far less that prior service companies.

Mungle made a motion, seconded by Bradford to approve the contract for another year. The motion carried.

MCCDD BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITION

A letter was received from Madison County Council for Developmentally Disabled requesting the Commission approve the appointment of Madelyn Lenhardt to fill an unexpired term of a former member beginning November 13, 2012 and ending on October 14, 2013.

Bradford made a motion, seconded by Mungle to approve the appointment. The motion carried.

COMMISSIONER REPORTS

Bradford said he met with Gregg Pruett and Ernie Robinson at the Road and Bridge department last week and discussed some road issues.

Mooney attended the Madison County Chamber of Commerce meeting and luncheon last Thursday where Dr. Kelly Burlison was the guest speaker. He also attended a SEMO Family Violence Council meeting and the Emergency Management meeting at the Madison County Health office with Iron and Madison County present.

Mooney met with Fredericktown City Mayor Korokis and the Madison County Sheriff to discuss the damage to a city patrol car during an arrest made by the county.

APPROVE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Mungle made a motion, seconded by Bradford  to approve accounts payable. The motion carried.

The  Madison County Commission did not meet on Monday, November 19, 2012 because of the Missouri Association of Counties Conference.

No further business was transacted on November 13, 2012.
