Park Hills man hurt in collision

A Park Hills man sustained moderate injuries in a collision at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday on Flat River Road at Fairgrounds Road, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

John A. Cain, 75, of Park hills was driving a 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity and attempted to make a left turn onto Fairgrounds Road. The report stated the Celebrity drove into the path of a 2006 Honda Pilot driven by Julie A. Downs, a 40-year-old woman from Farmington.

Cain was transported to Parkland Health Center by St. Francois County Ambulance. According to the report he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Damage to the Celebrity was listed as total and damage to the Pilot was listed as extensive. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
