Lady Cardinals down Owens with second-half pull-away

VINCENNES, IN — Ranked 22nd in the nation among Division 1 Junior colleges, the Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals were strongly contested for one half of their game with the Owens College Lady Express. Leading by only one point (30-29), the Lady Cardinals stepped up their game a notch or two, to record a 64-56 win, improving their record to 7-1 for November. Mineral Area led 30-29 at the half.

Janelle Travis led the team in scoring with 16 points and Ashleigh Bow hit three three-pointers to score 15. Chelsea Roberts had an all-around performance of 10 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and six assists. Bow also pulled down 10 boards, with Brittany Lawson leading the team with her 11 boards.

The Lady Cardinals will play again today in the Vincennes Classic at noon against Malcolm X.
