Several file for April election

Tuesday was opening day for those who wish to file for school board and municipal elections to be held in April. Following are those who filed.

Bismarck School Board

The Bismarck R-5 School District’s Board of Education has two seats open in the April 2 election. All are for three year terms. As of late Monday afternoon, incumbents Wendall Jarvis and Brad Brown had filed to retain their seats.

Bismarck Board

The Bismarck Board of Aldermen has two open seats — Ward I and Ward II aldermen — in the April election. Both are two year terms. Ward I incumbent LaDonna Haefner had filed for re-election as of Monday afternoon.

Bonne Terre

Incumbent Harold Morgan and Kenneth Jaco filed for Ward 1.

Incumbent Shawn Kay filed for Ward 3.

Central Schools

Two incumbents, David Gross and Don Bess have filed for re-election to their positions on the Central R-3 Board of Education. Board members serve a three year term.

Desloge Board

In Desloge, the board of aldermen has open seats in Ward I, II and III. The position of mayor will also be in contention. All positions are for two year terms. As of Monday afternoon, Ward I incumbent Alderman Jim Jones had filed for re-election.

Farmington School Board

Farmington didn’t have any candidates signed up the first day  for the two open seats. Those up for re-election in April are Keven Harrington and Dr. Ben Rothlisberger. They are two-three year seats.

Farmington Council

Filings are unavailable for the Farmington Council as of press time.

Iron Mountain Lake

Attempts to contact Iron Mountain Lake for Monday candidate filings were unsuccessful.

Leadington

Leadington residents will be voting for mayor and two seats on the board of aldermen. Both seats are for two year terms. As of Monday afternoon, Jim Hurt had filed for one of the alderman spots.

Leadwood

In the City of Leadwood voters will have the opportunity to elect a Mayor, an Alderman in Ward II, an Alderman in Ward I and an Alderman to fill an unexpired term in Ward II. All of these offices are for two year terms, with the exception of the unexpired Ward II office, which will carry a one year term. On opening day, Ward I Incumbent Ken Meinershagen was the only filing.

North County

Incumbent Paul Williams filed for a seat on the school board. Also filing for three-year terms were Gary Ross and Connie Hester.

Jerry Reed filed for a one-year term.

Park Hills

In the City of Park Hills there will be openings for one alderman in each of the four wards. As of 5 p.m. the only filing was by Incumbent Tom Reed for Ward III Alderman.

The voters will decide on a Mayor for the City of Park Hills this April as well. On opening day of the filing, Incumbent David Easter and Danny Naucke filed.

West County Schools

West County R-IV Board of Education candidates as of opening day are Cleda Momot and Shawn Meinershagen.
