Gifted Students Ask Questions and Spread Holiday Cheer

The gifted students (C.A.T.S.) at the Intermediate and Elementary schools joined up to host a trivia night for the students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.  The C.A.T.S. at the Intermediate were in charge of developing all of the questions that were asked at the trivia competition.  The students were asked to pay two dollars to play and there was a concession stand available for players to buy snacks.  All of the money raised was collected to use to buy presents for some underprivileged children.  The Trivia for Kids by Kids was a great success and the students raised plenty of money to buy gifts for the children.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, the C.A.T.S. groups traveled by bus to spread some Christmas cheer.  The first stop was at Stockhoff Nursing Home where the students recited, “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to the residents.  Then, the students handed out placemats that they had decorated for the people at the nursing home.  Before they left, the students sang, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”  After the nursing home, the students traveled to Fredericktown Wal-Mart where they picked out presents for the kids on their list.  Students had to be careful and keep track of their money so they didn’t go over the budget.  The C.A.T.S. picked out some great gifts for the kids.

All the C.A.T.S. students at Fredericktown Schools would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
