Potosi man sustains serious injuries

A Potosi man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident 5:50 a.m. Sunday on Route E east of Midwest Road in Washington County.

According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Clive A. Hedrick, 26, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, which traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a bridge, came to rest on its side and then caught fire.

Hedrick was transported by Survival Flight to Barnes Jewish Hospital. According to the report he was wearing a seatbelt.

Damage to the vehicle was listed as total and it was towed from the scene.
