Lady Raiders deliver fast start to defeat Hunters
STE. GENEVIEVE — Emily Eaton continued her strong freshman campaign with a game-high 20 points, and North County compiled a sizable early lead Thursday night for a 63-41 victory at Ste. Genevieve.
The Lady Raiders (15-4) were sparked by three early 3-pointers from senior Brandi Hartrup, and bolted to a 37-15 halftime advantage. Celeste Blum had eight points in the win.
North County remained in the hunt for a share of the MAAA Large-School title, but need to prevail over Potosi tonight and Fredericktown on Monday while receiving help from Central against first-place Farmington.
Morgan Grither scored 14 points and Paige Schmelzle added 13 for Ste. Genevieve (7-9).
