Ironton Head Start hit by sequestration
Iron County – The Ironton Head Start Center, funded through the East Missouri Action Agency, will lose three weeks due to sequestration budget cuts, according to The Mountain Echo.
Children involved in the program come from as far away as Annapolis, Belleview and Viburnum.
The local center will cut back three weeks of its annual program due to federal funding cuts. According to the director, the program will be two weeks shorter this school year and begin one week later this next school year. There may be additional cutbacks, but there are no definitive plans yet.
