Lady Cats Soccer

The Lady Cats soccer team lost 4-0, Tuesday, March 26, at St. Vincent.

The Cats gave up two goals late in the first half, and another at the end of the match.

Coach Jessica Welker said Nicole Burns had several shots on goal for FHS.

Wednesday, the Lady Cats lost 4-0, at Windsor.

Completing a busy week, the Cats lost 4-1, at Perryville, Thursday.


The Blackcats trailed the undefeated Notre Dame Bulldogs just 1-0 going into the bottom of the fifth, but the Bulldogs broke out with nine runs for a 10-0 victory.

The Fredericktown defense played error-free baseball, Wednesday (March 27), but Fredericktown was held without a hit by Bulldogs’ pitcher Justin Landewee.

Senior Andre Atkeson started and pitched three and two-thirds scoreless innings for the Blackcats before Notre Dame scored a single tally in the fourth. They added four more runs off the starter in the big fifth inning. Atkeson struck out three and walked only two over four and one-third innings.

Cats Track

The FHS boys and girls track teams ran in the Raider Relays on Thursday at North County. The Girls finished ninth with 13 points, and the boys were eighth with 37.5.

The Lady Cats Desi Phillips was fourth in the 1600 with a time of  6:23.10.

The Blackcats Patrick Kline was second in the long jump at 19-03.

Tyler Helm was third in the triple jump at 39-09.50.

Helm also took third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of  44.06.

Fredericktown also took third in the 4X400 Relay. The team of Kline, Helm, Reide Roberts, and Joe Wiser completed the race in  3:41.13.


The Blackcats Golf Team played a quad match Thursday, at Terre Du Lac, in Bonne Terre.

The team scores were: Farmington-176; West County- 205; Fredericktown- 206; and Central- 216.

The low golfers for Fredericktown were: Nathan Simpson 47, Rylan Matthews 49, Tye Fisher 54, and Thomas Pyle 56.

The team is scheduled to play, Thursday, at Ste. Genevieve Country Club.
