Farmington spring cleanup
Farmington will have their annual spring cleanup and electronic recycling April 8-11. Pickup dates are April 8 for Ward One, April 9 for Ward Two, April 10 for Ward Three and April 11 for Ward Four. Trucks will begin at 7:30 a.m. each day.
Please have rubbish in containers at the curb or in the alley. They will not take anything your trash service takes such as trash bags, cardboard boxes or items in garbage cans. They will not accept leaves, limbs, brush, lumber, shingles, siding or construction waste products. They will not accept anything larger than two men can handle. All appliances must have compressors removed. If they are unable to complete a ward in a single day, they will finish the following day. Please check to see what ward you are in, and leave all rubbish by the curb on your specified morning no later than 7:30 a.m.
Tires may be taken to the Street Department at 401 East Liberty on April 12 for a fee of $2 per tire, $3 if mounted on wheel. They will not accept tires over 16 inches.
Electronics may be dropped off on April 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmington Civic Center parking lot, 2 Black Knight Drive.
Acceptable items include computers, printers, keyboards, laptops, hard drives, cell phones, pagers, radios, kitchen appliances, televisions, lawn and garden equipment. There will be a limit of one television per car and all lawn and garden equipment must have oil and gas removed.
They will not accept any smoke detectors, glass lamps, light bulbs, or fluorescent tubes.
