High school benefits for lab update

While FHS students and teachers were enjoying their day off on March 15, the school’s IT department kept themselves busy giving Lab One of the Farmington High School LMC a new look.

The lab now holds 30 new computers, each with a 20” Dell flat screen monitor. Every computer also has Windows 7 which will benefit students tremendously.

This is just one of the many advancements that Farmington R-VII plans to make over the next year. Additionally, the IT Department and Farmington R-7 plans to add district-wide WiFi for students and staff, and mobile computer labs that will be made possible with laptop carts which will use a separate WiFi connection.

Technology has been a concern over the past few years at Farmington High School, and was one of the top focal points in the most recent bond issue last year. All of these improvements are aimed towards making Farmington R-7 one of the more technologically advanced schools in the area.
