Car dealer, booster club team for fundraiser
The Farmington Athletic Booster Club and Sam Scism Ford Lincoln are teaming up to raise money with an event this Saturday.
For every test drive on Saturday at the Farmington High School sophomore lot, across from Parkland Health Center, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. the Ford dealership will donate $20 to the Farmington High School Athletic Boosters. In all, Ford will donate up to $6,000 to the athletic boosters during the six-hour event.
Kent Scism, of Sam Scism Ford Lincoln, said more than $16 million has been raised for schools by doing this test drive promotion with Ford dealers around the country. This is something dealers are encouraged to do two times a year.
Saturday’s event is being held in conjunction with the Walk/Run/Ride with Walker. Registration begins at 8 a.m. for that event, and the walk/run/ride begins at 9 a.m. at the high school.
