Emogene M. Schwartz

RED BUD, Ill. — Emogene M. Schwartz, 88, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, formerly of Red Bud, passed away at 7:25 p.m, Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre, Missouri.

She was born to the late Albert and Flossie (nee Ball) Wiegard on November 27, 1924, in Garnavillo, Iowa.

Emogene married Delmar J. Schwartz on February 6, 1947, at Prairie du Rocher, Ill. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2006.

Emogene, along with her husband Delmar, owned and operated North County Home Center in Red Bud, Ill., for 10 years until their retirement in 1983.

She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Red Bud, Ill. She was a former member of the Red Bud Chamber of Commerce, an avid quilter and she enjoyed any kind of needle work.

She is survived by: Daughter, Judith Miller of Bonne Terre; brother, William (Alouise) Wiegard of Modoc, Ill.; grandsons, Daniel (Wendy) Dashner and Kenneth Dashner; step-granddaughters, Erica Goodwin and Heather Miller; great-grandchildren, Callaway Dashner, Ashton Dashner and Olivia Dashner; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by: Her parents; husband, Delmar; son-in-law, Kenneth Miller; grandson, Robert Dashner; and brothers, Ralph, Butch and Don Wiegard.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Ill., with Rev. William Graves officiating. Interment at St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery, Red Bud, Ill. Memorial may be made to the donor’s choice.
