Hung jury declared in Washington County murder trial

A jury could not come to a verdict at the end of a two-day murder trial in Washington County.

Circuit Court Judge Kenneth W. Pratte declared a mistrial due to a hung jury. The jury deliberated more than four hours.

Martin Gorse, 47, of Cadet, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the shooting death of his son-in-law Ronald Coleman Jr. a year ago. The case was passed to May 20 for announcements.
