Warriors end regular season with 23 wins

STE. GENEVIEVE — Tyler Litterest delivered an early 2-run triple, and the Valle Catholic baseball team closed out its regular season with a 3-0 victory over Shawnee (Ill.) on Wednesday.

Andrew Basler threw a complete game for the Warriors, who will host the Class 2, District 4 tournament next week as the top seed.

Valle (23-4) picked up an insurance run in the sixth inning. Evan Lauer doubled and scored on Linc Stoll’s sacrifice fly.

The Warriors have recorded five shutouts in their last seven games.
