Ruth Gilmer
Ruth Gilmer, 87, of Fredericktown, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown. She was born February 8, 1926 in Irondale, Mo., the daughter of Simon Lee and Ruby (Hardesty) Crump .
She was preceded in death by husband Tony Gilmer; her parents; sons David Lee Gilmer and John Dale Gilmer; brother Lee Golden Crump; and sisters, Marion Cole and Bernadine Hunt.
Survivors include children, Lou Ann (Rick) Tesreau of Fredericktown, Paul (Charma) Gilmer of Farmington; daughter in-law Eva Gilmer also of Farmington; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mabel Young, Ina Fern Reese, and Jessie Sumpter.
Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge, Mo. and an alumnus of Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Mo. She enjoyed travelling, going to church, cooking, sewing, reading, and playing the piano.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. The service will be at 1 p.m., in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel with Pastor David McCutcheon officiating. Burial will follow at Big River Cemetery in Irondale.
