Falcons win Farmington duel
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Falcons brandished their bats for 11 hits in defeating their same-town rival Firebirds on Thursday 9-1. Pitchers Brandt Busenbark and Gunner LaBrot limited the Firebirds to two singles in sharing the seven innings on the mound.
Busenbark collected the win with four innings work, by striking out five and holding the Firebirds scoreless despite the two singles, one each by Daniel Snider and Blair Boyd.
John Bader struck out seven Falcon batters in pitching the first six innings for the Firebirds. Landon Rigdon finished off the seventh in relief with two K’s.
Brayden Krause powered the ball for two triples and a double to drive in four runs for the Falcons. Andres Castro, Brandon Winder and LaBrot had two hits apiece with Castro and LaBrot both hitting one double. LaBrot’s double to the fence for two RBI in the fifth inning put the Falcons up 6-0.
Logan Winder and Busenbark both singled in the game.
