Southern Hotel Bed and Breakfast

Ste. Genevieve – The Southern Hotel Bed and Breakfast in Ste. Genevieve is featured briefly in Richard Paul Evans’ latest novel, “A Step of Faith.”

It is part of Evans’ “The Walk” series. In this book, the character travels through Missouri, staying a night at the Southern Hotel in Chapter 18.

Evans and his daughter visited the hotel last year while traveling the same stretch his character was to travel, scouting for locations for the book.

The business is owned by Mike and Cathy Hankins. Oddly, Cathy had just finished reading one of his books and put the name and the face together.

Evans of Utah is famous for his books, “The Christmas Box,” “Timepiece,” “The Locket” and “A Perfect Day.”
