Firebirds save secures 7-6 win

CALEDONIA — The Farmington Firebirds posted their starting pitcher Landon Rigdon to a 7-4 lead after four innings, and relief pitcher Chase Montgomery secured the win of the Rigdon by striking out eight batters in the last three innings for the save with a final score of 7-6 over the Valley Wildcats. Rigdon struck out five in the first four innings.

Rigdon helped his own cause with a home run and a single. Both Nick Bertram and John  Bader  hit a triple and a single, and Jake Wilson and Jared Nickelson had one single each.

Logan Rawlins was 3-5 for the Wildcats, Jacob Pryor, Alan Eckhoff, Dustin Payne, and Blake Casteel each had one hit for the Wildcats.
