Basil O. Howell

Basil O. Howell, 87, died  Monday, July 8, 2013 at the ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown. He was born January 15, 1926 in St. Louis, the son of Phillip and Maude (Pogue) Howell.

Basil married Virginia Johnson November 13, 1948 at Piggot, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Virginia; brothers Jack Howell, Elmer Howell, Melvin Howell, and an infant brother; and one sister, Barbara Sexaur.

Survivors include daughter Rita Lamb of Fredericktown; sons Terry Howell of Birmingham, Ala. and Edward Howell of Empire, Ala.; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Basil was of the Christian faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.

Funeral services were  Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Follis & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Graham officiating. Burial was in the  I.O.O.F Cemetery.
