Arrested for filing false police report
DESLOGE – A 19-year-old Desloge woman who reported being punched in the face during an early morning walk has been arrested for making a false police report.
Her name is not being released pending the filing of formal charges.
According to Desloge Police, at 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 8 officers received a report of a domestic dispute no longer in progress at the Ravencrest Apartments. Cpl. Dustin Cash responded to the address and was met by a young woman who said she was assaulted while walking on Waller Street.
She told the officer an unknown white male wearing a black hat punched her, knocking her to the ground, and then ran off. He noted the woman had a red mark and minor swelling under her left eye, but she refused medical treatment.
When questioned about the domestic dispute she told police she and her brother had gotten into an argument.
During the ongoing investigation, Cpl. Cash learned and confirmed that the woman had made a false report. In a follow-up interview Aug. 15 she admitted to police she made up the story, and said it was actually an ex-boyfriend who assaulted her.
