Alfred Summerlot

Alfred Summerlot, 81, of Fredericktown, died Monday, September 9, 2013 at Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Center in Fredericktown. He was born April 22, 1932 in LaPorte, Ind., the son of Walter and Zelma (Harness) Summerlot.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven sibblings and loving companion Helen Miller.

Survivors include step-sons David Miller of Fredericktown and John Miller of Wentzville; step-daughters Toni Brady of Fredericktown, Ruth Halpin of Fredericktown,  and Janice Miller of Farmington; brother Jim Summerlot of Indiana, and sisters Jean Fornal and Lelah Denninghoff, both of Indiana.

Alfred was a self-employed carpenter, member of the Fredericktown American Legion and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting his friends at the American Legion Post.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Little Vine Cemetery, near Fredericktown.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
