Lady Rebels add two more wins in tournament
PERRYVILLE, Mo. – Central scored 12 runs in the opening frame, and routed Chaffee 13-2 to begin the Perryville softball tournament on Saturday morning.
Georgia Richardson had a double and triple while going 3-for-3, and finished with three RBI and two runs scored for the Lady Rebels.
Hanna Stam singled twice while scoring three runs, and Olivia Casey collected three RBI. Bailey Burgess, Ally Welch and Alexus Groom also had RBI hits.
Kylie House threw three innings and struck out four for the win in relief after starter Morgin Reece pitched two scoreless frames.
Central continued to roll during its second tournament game. Stam went 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice in a 10-0 shutout over host Perryville.
Mady Hart and Casey each finished 2-for-3, and Reece tossed a 3-hitter with two strikeouts as the Lady Rebels built an 8-0 lead in the second inning.
St. Vincent then stopped the Central win streak by turning seven hits and five walks into a 6-3 victory.
Stam remained strong at the plate with two more hits, and her 3-run homer ended a possible shutout during the bottom of the seventh inning.
Casey and Hart were each 2-for-4 and Richardson added a single for Central (15-3), which carries the No. 1 seed into the MAAA Tournament today.
