Business collecting Christmas toys for foster kids
A Bonne Terre home care company is collecting new toys for an annual program that seeks to bring Christmas cheer to local foster children.
“We’re holding a toy drive at the office for the 2013 Annual Foster Kids Christmas Party and want to invite the entire community to take part,” said Amy Keller of A1 Home Care, located at 910 Benham St, Suite B.
The party is held for foster kids in the 24th Judicial Circuit, which includes St. Francois, Washington, Madison and Ste. Genevieve counties. This year it will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 10 at Harvest Christian Center, located between Bismarck and Park Hills on Highway 32.
“Event organizer Tammy Jones is asking for donations of new toys, around $10 in value, for boys and girls between the ages of birth and 20 years old,” said Keller. “It’s stressed that the toys should be new — nothing used. We’ll be accepting donations at the store through Dec. 2.”
Keller said those wanting to make a donation but can’t make it by the store can call 573-358-7755 for pick-up.
“We believe it’s important to give something to help our local foster kids have a great Christmas and hope the community will help us out,” Keller said.
