Local man charged with domestic assault

A Fredericktown man was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

According to a Madison County Sheriff’s Department probable cause statement, on December 1, a female victim claimed she had been beaten by Jason Pickert. The statement also said Pickert threatened the victim  with “physical harm causing death.”

Pickert’s first court appearance was Dec. 3. He entered a plea of not guilty to first degree domestic assault – serious physical injury, a class A felony.  Pickert also applied for a a public defender. His bond is set at $25,000 cash only.

His next scheduled court appearance is Dec. 12 at the Madison County Courthouse.
