St. Pius pulls away from Bulldogs

FESTUS — Javon White made 11-of-12 free throws and scored a game-high 21 points as St. Pius pulled away from West County 74-64 in boys basketball action on Thursday night.

Isaiah Hennessey pitched in with 19 points and Chris Filer had 18 for the victorious Lancers. The contest was squared 33-33 at halftime and 49-49 after three quarters.

Clayton Brinkley scored 20 points to pace West County (2-3). Kyle Coleman added 14 points and Parker Forshee had 10 as four Bulldogs fouled out.

West County enjoyed a maximum lead of eight early in the second quarter.
