Dragons up early season record to 3-0
CAPE GIRARDEAU — The Ste. Genevieve Dragons wrestling team won all but two of their 14 matches with the Cape Central Tigers for a 66-6 conference win on Thursday.
The Dragons won eight of their wrestled matches by fall with one each by forfeit, tech fall, major decision and decision. The Tigers won both of their matches by decision.
Despite the eight falls, the Tigers put up a good showing as only three matches were concluded in the first period.
Tyler Jones was able to squeeze off his pin with just two seconds remaining before the buzzer in the first period of his 138 pound match. Travis Jones recorded a fall in 1:50 of the 126 pound match and Austin Brewer (145) had the shortest match with a fall in 1:40 for the only matches ending in the first period.
