Wanda Rose Johnson
Wanda Rose Johnson, 84, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown. She was born December 1, 1929 in Silvermines, the daughter of Jack and Ida (Palmer) Allen.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John J. Johnson whom she married April 28, 1950 in Arcadia; sister Edith Lycan of Wyandotte, Mich.; brothers Alfred Allen of Manteca, Calif. and Charles Allen of Bakersfield, Calif.; and uncle Lynn Allen of Arcadia.
Survivors include sons David (Cheryl) Johnson, Darrell Johnson, Frank (Mary Jo) Johnson, and Wayne (Becky) Johnson, all of Fredericktown; daughters Pam (Ron) Koerner of Mar ion, Kent. and Sandy (Jerry) Tripp of Fredericktown; aunt Leona Allen of Arcadia,; sisters-in-law Zelda Allen of California and Alta Kretschmar of Fenton; brother-in-law Murphy Johnson of O’Fallon; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. She also had many special friends. Sandy Allgier, Patsy Crump, Phillip and Shirley Henry, and Francis Prier were a few.
Wanda was of the General Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, sewing, baking, going to church, and helping others. She loved her children and grandchildren. She told her grandchildren about things that happened to her as she grew up. They loved hearing her stories.
Funeral services were Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Follis & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Reed officiating. Burial was in Ashlock Cemetery.
