Lady Bulldogs place third with win over Lady Warriors

FARMINGTON — The West County Lady Bulldogs saw their chances at taking third place in the St. Paul Lutheran Tournament start to dim as the Valle Catholic Lady Warriors started the game on fire from beyond the circle to jump out to the lead.

The Lady Bulldogs applied a more diligent defense in the second quarter to grab the lead, and then maintain it the rest of the way for a 45-40 win of third place.

Hannah Beck led the Lady Bulldogs comeback with 22 points. Courtney Callahan scored 10, Kaylin Sites had six, Tiffanie Jones scored five and Hannah Hollock chipped in two points.

  Mackenzie Wipfler scored a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four steals. Lacey Marschel scored eight, Colleen Brake finished with six points, Cassandra Moulton had four and Eva Rolfe and Maria Hermann scored two each.
