Lockdowns, threatening letters cause problems

Jefferson County had yet another busy week. It started off with Hillsboro R-3 High School going into a lockdown.
Grandview soon followed to test their lockdown procedure.
A student had accidentally brought one round of ammunition to school in his pocket that he forgot about. It resulted in a five and half hour lockdown while authorities searched the school for any weapons.
A politically active Pevely resident Erin Kaston, who asks many questions about the operations at city hall, has received two anonymous letters threatening her to stay away from Pevely. Her father, Jim Kaston, Herculaneum city administrator, has received another version of the letter. An investigation is underway.
A 41-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly touched a woman inappropriately inside the Arnold Schnucks and attempted to kidnap her 4-year-old son.
Phillips 66 in Imperial was robbed by a man armed with a knife. The clerk did what he wanted and got away with an undetermined amount of money.
