Bismarck preschool, kindergarten screening dates set

Preschool screening and enrollment for children in the Bismarck R-5 School District is set for Feb. 20-21. To enter preschool this year, a child must be 4 years old before Aug. 1, 2014.

Kindergarten screening and enrollment for children in the Bismarck R-V School District is set for March 6-7. To enter kindergarten this year, a child must be 5 years old before Aug. 1, 2014.

These screenings will take place at the Bismarck School.

Parents should bring proof of immunization, as it is unlawful for a child to attend school without the required immunization unless the parent has signed a religious or medical exemption, a copy of the child’s social security card, birth certificate, as well as proof of residence; such as, an electric or phone bill with your current name and address.

All of these forms are necessary for enrollment. Birth certificates may be obtained from the director of health in the state in which the child was born. A certificate from the hospital will not be acceptable.

If parents or guardians do not receive a letter regarding either of these screenings by Feb. 18, call the Bismarck School at 573-734-6111.
