Democrat Central Committee elects new officers

Archie Camden and Sonja Camden were elected chairman and vice chair during a meeting on Feb. 21. Previous chairs Frank and Mary Mack regretfully resigned due to ill health but will remain representatives from Iron Township. To round out the membership, Laura Pratt Byron from Liberty Township was voted to a committee post.

Important business included the endorsement of incumbent county office holders for upcoming elections. Linda Dickerson, director of Habitat for Humanity, was present and endorsed by the committee for as a candidate for St.. Francois County presiding commissioner. State Representative Linda Black was also endorsed. Chris Koster, the state’s attorney general, was given full support by members for his future race for the governorship.

Political committees for Republicans and Democrats are mandated by the State of Missouri.
