March of Dimes benefit this Sunday

Local musicians, Matt Weyand and Matt Pratt will be playing music at Twin Oaks Winery Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. to raise money for the March of Dimes. There will be various vendors set up and other events going on to help raise money for the cause.

There is a $15 cover charge, which includes donation to the March of Dimes and three tickets for wine tasting.

The March for Babies will be held starting at 6 p.m. on April 24 at Long Park in Farmington.

Mindy Pingel, co-chair for the march, said this year’s goal is $44,000.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. For more than 75 years, moms and babies have benefited from March of Dimes research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs.

Nearly 500,000 babies are born prematurely each year. Money raised through the “March for Babies” helps fund research and supports programs supporting expectant mothers and their babies.
