Gary Wayne Simpson

Gary Wayne Simpson, 58, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at his home in Mt. Shasta, Calif. He was born March 19, 1956 in Ironton, the son of John E. and Jean N. (Carmack) Simpson.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by grandparents John B. and Ada (Mullins) Simpson and Jesse and Mary Dixie (Walker) Carmack; uncles Butch and Avery Carmack and aunt Jewel Carmack.

Survivors include sister Carol (Simpson) Williams and brother Terry (Bart) Simpson, both of Fredericktown; nieces Holly (Lenny) Potts of Barnhart and Carrie (Waylon) Pogue of Fredericktown; nephews Cody Simpson and David Williams, both of Fredericktown; uncles Bob (Judy) Simpson of Dover, Del. and Edward (Millie) Carmack of St. Louis and three great nieces.

Gary worked in many state parks from Yellowstone to Sequoia. He loved living out west and did so for 27 years. He loved the outdoors, hockey, music and movies.

He was of the Christian faith and was cremated at Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel per his wishes. His family will hold a private service in Fredericktown at a later date.
