Pre-Season youth softball basic skills clinic

Thursday April 24 will be set aside for an offensive and defensive skills clinic at the Jaycee Park. This will be a free clinic for all registered MCGYL players in Grades 2-4 and 5-9. Team practice should wait until after this clinic to begin.

So far, there are a few local women who played high school or above softball who plan on helping, as well as Dwight Presson who is respected as an excellent pitching coach, Jenni Kemp who pitched for Shawnee Community College and Missouri Baptist University (both as their No. 1 pitcher) and myself with extensive background as a coach, player and umpire. I may even have some players from the 18U travelling team(s) as well to help demonstrate techniques. And of course the MCGYL Board of Directors will also be on hand to share their knowledge of the game.

Coaches are also encouraged to attend and help if participation is as great as we hope it will be. Who knows you may even gain a technique, drill or some other aspect of the fast-pitch softball game.
