Cash retiring from MAC business office
PARK HILLS – Cleta Cash, administrative assistant/enrollment services specialist, is retiring from Mineral Area College. She has worked for the college for 27 years.
Cash processed students’ schedules and took payments, and she said one of the highlights of her career has been to help so many students get started on their college journeys at MAC.
“In the more than 27 years I’ve been here, MAC has graduated thousands of students, and since I work for the registrar, I can honestly say I played a small part in their success,” she said. “They all began in admissions and registration.”
Cash has an associate degree from MAC, and came to the college from working at Walmart. She lived in Leadwood for 57 years, and three years ago, moved to Farmington.
Traveling back and forth to Kentucky with her husband, Les, to visit family, and making a few trips to the coastal states might be part of her retirement picture, she said.
As for what she will miss about MAC, Cash said she will miss seeing everyone. “They say you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone… I guess I’ll find out soon enough what I’ll miss the most,” she said.
