Arthur Thomas Crites Jr.

IRONTON — Arthur Thomas Crites Jr., known to most as Tom, passed away May 4, 2014, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 75 years. He was born June 19, 1938, in Farmington, Missouri, the son of the late Arthur Thomas and Edna Mae (Williams) Crites.

On September 23, 1978, he was united in marriage to Carol Marie Warren who survives. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children; Thomas Lee Crites of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Pamela Crites Rector of Desloge, Missouri, Mark Crites and wife, Kim of Farmington, Missouri, Robert Crites and wife Mary of Wichita, Kansas, his step-children; Kathryn Ver Straate and husband, Marc of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Barrett Mitchell and wife, Jamie of Desloge, Missouri. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, William and Glenda Crites of Farmington, Missouri, and a sister, Margaret Hafner of Park Hills, Missouri, twenty-one grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Hafner and his brother, Robert Crites.

Tom was a graduate of Farmington High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton where he has served as a Deacon. He served in the National Guard and he was the Manager of Town and Country Supermarket for over twenty years.

Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ironton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Ironton at 1 p.m. with Rev. Aaron Boeving officiating. Interment will be in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park.
