“Fizz, Boom, Read” summer reading program
The 2014 summer reading program at the Farmington Public Library will be a “bang” for those participating.
“Fizz, Boom, Read” is the theme and registration is already underway.
The program is free to members of the library.
The reading program last for eight weeks. Participants are provided a kit, which includes a reading log to keep track of their summer reading.
Special programs will be held at Long Hall beginning July 7. Events for preschoolers are held each Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Grades kindergarten through second meet each Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to noon and grades three through five meet each Thursday from 10 :30 a.m. to noon. Students going into grade six and up will meet at 2:30 p.m. each Thursday at the library, located at 108 W. Harrison St.
A wrap-up celebration for all age groups is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on July 25 with “Nitro Joe”, described as a “thrilling, fast paced, high energy science guy that will dazzle everyone!”
