Accidents reported on Route B and Hwy 221
One man was injured as result of a two vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on Highway B in Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a Ford Explorer being driven by Bobby Feltz, 27, of Dittmer who was heading west on Highway B when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, resulting in Feltz crossing the center line. The side of his SUV hit the front end of a Ford F-250 driven by James Pordeinski, 50, of Bonne Terre.
Feltz was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his Explorer after the impact. Pordeinski was wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident.
Feltz received moderate injuries and was transported by the Big River Ambulance District to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis.
The accident occurred on Highway B, west of Reynolds Creek Road.
A separate accident Wednesday afternoon on Highway 221, just east of Chalk Hill Road, involved a pickup truck pulling a trailer with a passenger car being hauled on the trailer.
According to the patrol, the trailer started swaying and eventually went off the road, causing the driver of the truck to lose control. The truck went off the roadway and overturned, causing the trailer to overturn as well. The car was ejected from the trailer onto the side of the road.
No injuries occurred to the driver from the incident, according to a patrol spokesperson. Traffic was backed up along Highway 221 in both directions for quite some time as the debris was cleared away.
