St. James Catholic to hold summer picnic
St. James Catholic Church in Potosi holds its Parish Summer Picnic on Sunday.
The picnic takes place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the dining hall. Fried chicken and roast beef dinners with side dishes and homemade desserts will be served buffet style.
Diners are encourage to arrive before 4 p.m. instead of waiting until the last minute.
Dinners will be $10 per adult, $5 for children 5-12, and free for children 4 and under.
People from all walks of life and differing faiths are encourage to attend and enjoy the festivities.
Many items will be on display in the church and outside. Some items will be available for sale in a “County Store.” There will be live music, children’s games and events, a bounce house and dunking booth.
Other attractions will include a horseshoe tournament, concessions stands and adult refreshments. A Bingo tent will be available for those who enjoy playing for cash and quilts. Drawings will also be held for prizes.
