District announces registration dates

Farmington R-7 School District registration begins July 29 for the 2014-15 school year.

W. L. Johns Early Childhood Center will hold registration from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 7.

Truman Kindergarten Center will hold registration from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 4 and Aug. 5. Children must be 5 years old before Aug. 1, 2014 to register. All eligible students are required to register.

Grades first through sixth will register from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 4 and Aug. 5.

Jefferson Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Washington-Franklin Elementary have grades one through four. Lincoln Intermediate has grades five and six. Students not previously registered in the District or students who have moved within the District are required to register at their attendance center.

Farmington Middle School, grades seven and eight will register by mail due to construction at the school. For new students, the registration form is available on the District website at www.fsdknights.com. Select the ‘Publications’ link at the bottom of the home page; the ‘Student Enrollment Form’ is under the ‘Other Publications & Manuals’ section. All students are required to register. New students not previously registered in the district must call 701-1330 beginning July 24 to set up an appointment to register

Farmington High School, grades nine through 12 will register from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. New students not previously registered in the district must call 701-1310 beginning July 24 to set up an appointment to register. All students are required to register.

Students entering the ninth grade register Aug. 1

A photo ID will be taken for students in grades seven through 12.

All students new to the district must have the following at the time of enrollment:

Current immunization record (will not be permitted to enroll without up-to-date immunizations)

Social security card (not required, but is used for proper record identification)

Proof of residency, such as property tax statement, rental agreement, utility or telephone bill

Birth certificate for Kindergarten and Early Childhood students (required)

The district will hold open house for Truman Kindergarten, Elementary buildings, high school and middle school on Aug. 14.

Truman Kindergarten Center will have open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 14.

Elementary Buildings (Grades 1-4) will have open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 14.

High school and middle school will have open house from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 14.

Lincoln Intermediate will split open house on two separate nights in order to inform the students and parents on the “1:1 Initiative” taking place at the school the 2014-15 school year.

Lincoln Intermediate Center fifth grade open house is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 12. Sixth-grade open house is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 14.

W. L. Johns Early Childhood Center open house is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 26.

The Farmington School District begins classes on Aug. 20.
