Four-vehicle accident causes injuries and damages building

The Fredericktown Police and Fire Departments and Madison County Ambulance District were dispatched to a vehicle striking a structure on Spruce Street in Fredericktown Monday morning.

According to the Fredericktown Police Department, a vehicle pulled out of 109 Spruce Street and failed to yield to a Jeep. The Jeep was pushed off the road and into the grass. The driver of the vehicle then hit the gas instead of the brake and hit two parked cars in the Madison County Senior Center parking lot. The vehicle continued and struck a pillar, knocking it off the concrete. The vehicle then turned towards the right and struck a tree where it came to a stop.

The Fredericktown Fire Department had to extract one man from a vehicle. He was transported by Madison County Ambulance District to a local hospital for treatment. Two others were taken by personal vehicles to be checked out.

Administration at the Madison County Senior Center will contact a construction company to look at the porch and have it repaired.
