Stacey Follis to serve on Mizzou Ag Alumni Board of Directors

Stacey Follis, Farmington, has been selected to serve on the Mizzou Ag Alumni Board of Directors as the Region 10 representative.

Follis graduated from Mizzou’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) in 1998 with a degree in General Agriculture and a minor in Animal Science. In 2000, Follis gained a Master’s Degree in Animal Science-Reproductive Physiology. She works for Zoetis, formerly Pfizer Animal Health/Pharmacia & Upjohn, as a Clinical Research Manager. Follis and her husband, Chad, have two future tigers, Colvin and Sela.

While at Mizzou, Follis was involved in Ag Ambassadors, Ag Student Council, Independent Aggies and Block and Bridle. Her time at CAFNR was a huge support for her transition from being raised in a rural area northwest of Sedalia to a larger University town. The friends she made at CAFNR are still a part of her life today.

Follis had advice for incoming Mizzou students considering CAFNR. “Find your passion and follow it. CAFNR, and a degree in agriculture, offers so many opportunities. It can accommodate whatever your passion really is.”

Agriculture is in her roots as Follis was raised on a 1,000-acre beef cattle and row crop family farm. Her passion for agriculture is evident in her community involvement. Follis currently serves on the St. Francois County Extension Council, is a past officer in Nancy Weber Garden Club, is immediate Past President of the Parkland Area Tigers chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association, and has done several career fairs and speaking engagements on Women in Agriculture and Science.

Follis is also active in assisting her husband, Chad, with his many responsibilities as a professor in Horticulture/Agriculture at Mineral Area College, including a large regional FFA contest for Missouri high school FFA students. As a past 10-year 4-H member, she envisions becoming involved with local 4-H clubs once her daughters are old enough. Follis is still involved with her family’s farm, and has become a part of the Follis Family Farm south of Fredericktown.

The University of Missouri Ag Alumni Association is its Board of Directors are dedicated to the goals and traditions of CAFNR. The purpose of the organization is to encourage and support future leaders enrolled in CAFNR. With over 3,000 students, the Association provides scholarships and funding for academic and professional development programs.
