Parker homers in Lady Raiders’ loss
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The North County softball team missed an early scoring opportunity, and could not take a lead on the road Wednesday at Notre Dame.
Sydney Parker connected for a solo home run in the sixth inning, but the Bulldogs netted two runs in the fifth and held on for a 3-1 victory.
Jessica Newburry scattered five hits and allowed one earned run in defeat. The right-hander struck out two and walked none.
Drew Spell finished 3-for-4 to pace North County (7-3), which stranded the bases loaded during their initial trip to the plate.
Courtney Coffman, Emily Kay and Madison Binkard also singled for the Lady Raiders.
