Blimp cruises the Parkland skies

Look up in the sky. It’s a bird, it’s a plane … no, it’s a blimp.

Many people walked outside just after 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon to see a blimp flying across the skies of the Parkland. The blimp read on the side “Create a Great State,” with a hashtag “#Growmo.”

Create a Great State is a statewide effort driven by Grow Missouri – a broad-based coalition formed to advocate policies that will make Missouri a more competitive, more attractive place in which to live and work. Led by a team of grassroots organizers and engaged citizens, Create a Great State is meant to awaken the consciences of like-minded Missourians who also reject the status quo and refuse to settle for mediocrity.

The campaign launched this month and Create a Great State is expecting to take Missouri by storm with a tour that will cover every corner of the state, employing dynamic, unprecedented tactics that “will not fail to surprise or engage,” the group promises.

Organizers will elicit feedback from Missourians from all political persuasions by facilitating inclusive discussions posing the basic question,“What can we do to improve our state?”
