Dragons secure No. 4 seed with victory

FREDERICKTOWN – Makayla Bader went 3-for-3, including an RBI double, and Ashley Viox homered on Thursday as the Ste. Genevieve softball team down Fredericktown 8-1 to close out conference play.

Adrea Mueller finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored while Hannah Abt and Andriene Webery added 2-run singles for the Dragons (10-8).

Megan Huck struck out four and scattered four hits in a complete-game win. Emily Winkleman fanned five in defeat for the Lady Blackcats (3-16).

Fredericktown scored its lone tally on an RBI double by Kinleigh Smith. Marissa Lindsey, Hayley Hinkle and Winkleman added singles.

The same teams will collide in the first round of the MAAA Tournament on Monday with the host Ste. Genevieve owning the higher No. 4 seed.
