Dragons sweep Bismarck after long first set

BISMARCK – The Ste. Genevieve volleyball team saw another opening set carry well past regulation on Monday night, but prevailed this time in a 32-30, 25-19 road match over Bismarck.

Emma Basler recorded 11 kills, 11 digs and 15 serve receptions to pace the Dragons (11-6). Riley Meyer finished with seven kills and 16 assists while Whitney Burr posted three blocks.

Katie Palmer contributed eight kills and Tess Bauman added seven more in the victory. Jessica Propst dished out 13 asssists.

Kayla Johnston had seven kills and Brilee Henson tallied six along with two blocks for Bismarck (11-6) up front. Kaitlyn Loughary brought up 14 digs and Rylie Grundmann added five.

Jamey Kelley and Kallie Pearl served five points each as the Lady Indians suffered their third loss in four matches.
