‘Truck N’ 4 A Cause’ benefits BackStoppers
The Bonne Terre Drag Strip is hosting a “Truck N’ 4 A Cause” fundraiser in support of BackStoppers on Oct. 18 and all trucks are welcome.
The event is sponsored by Auto Plaza Ford and the gates will open at 8 a.m. and registration start at 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m., and the event will go until 8 p.m.
Event Head Promoter Jorden Merseal said he has always been into trucks and has attended several events throughout the Midwest each year.
“I have always wanted to put on an event like this in the past,” said Merseal. “When this track opened I knew it would be a good opportunity. I have several contacts in the industry and I was able to pull it all together. I chose BackStoppers because I have a huge respect for what they do.”
The events for the day will include drag racing, which is sponsored by Andy’s Garage. The entry fee is $25 and first place winner receives $175 and second place gets $75.
A Dyno Competition is sponsored by Auto Plaza Ford and entry is $40 for three pulls.
The Show and Shine is sponsored by Marlers Towing and is $25 to enter. The winner of the Best of Show for the Show and Shine will receive a programmer for their truck that comes with five tuning options. It was donated by FarmTuned and has a $650 value.
The Burnout Competition is sponsored by Tire Bargains and is $20 to enter. First place will receive a $100 gift certificate to Tire Bargains and first and second place winners will receive a trophy.
There will be a raffle for an Air Dog 165 Fuel System valued at $650 for the winner’s truck of choice. There will also be several giveaways throughout the day including T-shirts and other items.
The Bonne Terre Drag Strip will also have concessions for sale and spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Coolers are welcomed and the gate fee is $10 per person.
